Before I left for my first trip to the Constantinou Bros Hotels in Paphos Cyprus my house mate asked me to bring him back an unusual bottle of Absolute Vodka.  As a vodka fan I was most obliged to accept the mission.

I stayed at the four star Constantinou Bros Athena Beach hotel which is perfectly located on the beach front of Paphos, just a short distance to the local shops.

With plenty of local shops within walking distance of the Athena Beach hotel it made my hunt for the vodka very easy.

I came across a little quirky shop not even 10 minutes away from the Athena Beach hotel.  I don’t remember the name of the shop now however it had a full range of various Absolut vodkas to choose from. 

Of course in this day and age I couldn’t possibly make a decision on which one to buy without taking 100 photos of all options and sending them on for confirmation.  I had made my way back to the Athena Beach hotel to access the wifi before sending the photos.

After sending the photos it turned out that one of bottles was limited edition…a new-generation flavour crafted with honey melon and lemongrass with only 100,000 bottles made and distributed worldwide. 

The bottle was designed by Swedish artist Johan Renck with a photograph of actress and supermodel Lydia Hearst.

Who’d of thought I would’ve come across such a rare bottle on the teeny tiny island of Cyprus, let alone a stone throw away from where I was staying at the Athena Beach hotel. 

It turns out Cyprus has a lot more hidden gems then the islands beauty, culture and hospitality.
